Webinar Overview

Many defects in stainless welds are due to lack of care or inadequate supervision to ensure the weld procedure has been correctly prepared, understood and then followed. This webinar will pick out difficulties and defects, explain how they can be detected (visually or instrumentally), why they occurred and how they may be avoided next time. Some defects will continue to occur but the reasons for numbers and limits will be explored for different applications using AS/NZS 1554.6 as an example.

The differences in preparing and welding ferritic, austenitic and duplex stainless steels considering heat input, gas mixtures, purging and its precautions will be covered. Difficulties with dissimilar metal joints will also be discussed.
