Join us for an interactive afternoon exploring stainless steel in action across two iconic Sydney destinations.
Starting at 3.00pm, we'll begin at the Sydney Fish Market, where you'll gain practical insight into stainless steel specification, fabrication and installation in a demanding food and hospitality environment. From hygiene requirements and material selection to durability and long-term performance, you'll hear firsthand how stainless steel meets the challenges of one of Australia's busiest public facilities.
Guiding us through the project will be Sid Saad, Site Manager of Southern Cross Laser & Sheet Metal, who will share a fabricator's perspective on the stainless steel shopfronts and applications throughout the development.
From there, we'll take a short walk to The Star Sydney, where we’ll be joined by Julian Batchelor from Steel Color Australia, who will guide us through the architectural stainless steel applications across the precinct, including the striking coloured stainless steel features. You'll learn how stainless steel is coloured, the performance characteristics of coloured finishes, and the design considerations that make it a popular choice for architects, designers and specifiers.
Along the way, we'll explore how stainless steel is selected, fabricated and specified to meet the functional, aesthetic and durability requirements of very different applications.
The walk will conclude at the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel, where we'll continue the conversation over food, drinks, networking and a bit of stainless steel trivia inspired by the tour.
