Webinar Outline

Structural stainless steel is increasingly used across various applications in the built environment due to its high performance, sustainability, and resilience. This webinar will explore a range of structural stainless steel applications, highlighting project examples that demonstrate its versatility.

Attendees will learn about the unique properties of stainless steel compared to carbon steel and gain an introduction to designing structural stainless steel members and connections, with insights from Australian, European, and US design practices.

Presenter: Nancy Baddoo, Nickel Institute Technical Specialist

Nancy Baddoo is an Associate Director at The Steel Construction Institute (SCI) in the UK and a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers. With over 35 years of experience, she has led numerous research projects on the structural performance of stainless steel and has shared her expertise worldwide through publications and seminars. For the past 13 years, Nancy has chaired the European technical committee for the stainless steel Eurocode (EN 1993-1-4). She also contributed significantly to drafting AISC 370-21, the Specification for Structural Stainless Steel Buildings, and is an active member of the AISC Committee on Structural Stainless Steel.
